The process is designed to operate in stages to remove targeted minerals and at the same time to remove low TDS water for any process or cleaning or delivery to communities or re-injection underground.
Each stage would be designed to operate at a target temperature to allow for Eutectic freeze crystallisation according to our process design. Water ice melted to extract Low TDS water (F) and salt/mineral crystals (H), leaving concentrated Brine high TDS fluid (G) going forward to the next stage or the process.
Our sketch show the principe of the process without details due to patent registration in progress. Everflo in South Africa the owner of Patents, and all manufacturing done at Everflo in Cape Town, South Africa.
The energy cost using Freezing method is the lowest of all mechanical technologies. Everflo developed the process over 20 years to allow for a simple industrial scale process. We would be able to scale with multiple units.
Our first model are able to treat 100 - 200 m3 per day of incoming brine and each stage would remove 50% low TDS water. Therefore, after three stages we would have removed 75% low TDS water from the solution, leaving 25% high TDS concentrated brine. Along the way we would have removed 3 stages of solids based on our targeted brine temperatures for each stage. In case we start off with very high TDS, we would only need one or two stages for example. This is due to the fact that some brines already contain approximate 25% minerals.
The description is in principe and we would need a water analysis and an discussion with the client to understand requirements. We would design a process and do equipment selection.
