The MFV Creativity is a selected example of Everflo’s custom-engineered Refrigerated Seawater (RSW) solutions, featuring a 350 kW Ammonia RSW plant designed for demanding marine operating conditions.
A key challenge on this project was the severely restricted machinery space aft of the fore peak. Although the available footprint was limited, the full six-metre vertical height could be utilised. Everflo responded by developing an innovative upright configuration using modular components, allowing the complete refrigeration plant to be accommodated within the available space.
The vertical design also enabled the majority of the plant weight to be positioned lower in the vessel than would typically be possible with a conventional horizontal installation at main-deck level. This contributed to a lower centre of gravity and supported improved vessel stability.
Careful consideration was also given to accessibility and serviceability, ensuring that the system could be efficiently maintained throughout its operational life. The 350 kW Ammonia RSW system is designed to rapidly and efficiently cool more than 400 metric tonnes of seawater within the vessel’s fish holds.
The MFV Creativity installation demonstrates Everflo’s ability to combine compact engineering, high refrigeration capacity, service-friendly design and practical vessel integration to overcome challenging space and operational requirements.

Containerised 12-Generator Flow Ice System – Tasmania, Australia
Everflo designed and manufactured this high-capacity containerised Flow Ice system for a client in Australia, with the unit destined for operation in Tasmania.
The system incorporates 12 long Flow Ice generators and is capable of producing approximately 10,000 litres of Flow Ice per hour at a 30% ice concentration, equivalent to approximately 240 tonnes per day.
At the heart of the system is a MyCom SCV screw compressor, providing a refrigeration capacity of 520 kW at design conditions. The compressor is driven by a 160 kW motor, controlled through a Siemens Variable Speed Drive (VSD) to provide efficient and responsive system operation.
The complete installation was engineered to comply with applicable AS/NZS national standards for refrigeration systems and pressure vessels, demonstrating Everflo’s ability to design and manufacture specialised industrial refrigeration solutions for international markets.
